Frequently Asked Questions
For Venues
Simply register for The Antidote website, and then you can run a quick search to find and claim your venue if it's already in our directory, or add your venue if it isn't. We've done our best to make this process as straightforward as possible.
Check out our pricing page which breaks down all the benefits of upgrading to a professional tier listing. And here's an example of a professional listing page. We hope you'll agree it's excellent value!
Once you've claimed your venue, and upgraded to the professional tier, you can check your 'Manage my Venues' page where you'll find a link to manage all aspects of your venue's profile. Let us know if you have any issues!
In order to correct errors, you'll first need to claim your venue (use the link at the bottom of the venue page), then upgrade it to the professional tier to update and maintain it directly. We don't offer the ability for free tier venues to be amended. As the costs involved are very low, we hope you won't mind - especially as this will improve your prospects of receiving direct customer leads. As we improve The Antidote together, everyone will benefit.
Sure! Just drop us a line and, once we've confirmed you're the owner, we'll remove it immediately. We're always open to feedback, so if you're considering removing your venue from The Antidote altogether, we'd love to hear why!
When you manage your venue, you can upload a Google Maps URL. If you also want to display your Google Maps venue rating, the link you upload needs to be to your venue's page on Google Maps. To find the right link, search for your venue in Google Maps and then, once you've found it, use the share icon to save the right URL to your clipboard. You can then paste this into your manage venue page, and the option to share your rating should appear.
We appreciate that! If you'd like to show that you've joined The Antidote, we've created some designs for you on our Get Social page.
For Chillers
We needed a way to distinguish between venue owners and the people visiting venues - you're both our customers after all, so we can't use that word! So we thought...what word encapsulates the kind of people looking for stress relief. People looking for ways to...chill out. So we settled on Chiller!
The Antidote is a direct response to the stress of city living. Modern life in the city manufactures stress faster than any single person can process it alone, and we believe no one should have to figure out how to cope in a city that wasn't built with their nervous system in mind. Every listing in our directory is an act of resistance against the idea that burnout is just the cost of living - we believe that relief should be as accessible as the stress that made it necessary.
We've developed a carefully curated algorithm that helps us find venues suitable for The Antidote, and then we check each one it finds to make sure it fits the bill. We consider not only alignment with our above mission and values, but also whether the venue website provides sufficient information for you to make an informed decision on whether their services are right for you. Our goal - ultimately - is to connect people like you with the right venues, and then get out of the way.
It certainly is! We don't charge you a penny. If venues want to upgrade to a professional tier, to provide more information to potential customers, we charge a modest monthly fee which helps us run our business. This is a much cheaper way for them to find suitable customers than via the huge booking engines like airbnb and Trip Advisor, so everyone wins.
We may end up adding features like that to The Antidote, but then the site would get much more expensive to build and maintain - and we would have to charge venues more than we do at present. We think it's already a bit unfair that the big booking sites take such a high cut from venues to grow their own profits, and they actually get in the way of venues building meaningful relationships with their customers.
Our singular purpose is to help you find the stress relief that's right for you, and we've made the conscious decision to hand bookings and other activities over to the venues themselves. Once you've found the venue that's right for you, drop them a line and we're sure they'd love to help you the old fashioned way!
Sorry about that - if you could please drop us a line, we'll get that fixed up right away.
