Having a great customer experience was a priority for a lot of web sites and apps as recently as 10 years ago. But it seems as though it's gone steadily downhill since then, with experiences getting busier and more confusing, with companies taking more and giving back less.
For us, it's about respect. We appreciate you spending your time here, and capturing information about you without you realising seems disrespectful to us. We really wanted browsing The Antidote to be an enjoyable, calming user experience in its own right, especially as we're trying to help people reduce stress! With this in mind we thought we'd share some of the steps we're taking to keep things on the straight and narrow:
- No adverts! Our intention is to keep The Antidote website an advert free space. So many people have ad blockers these days, which speaks volumes. On The Antidote, you won't need 'em.
- Clean layout. Rather than trying to jam as much content onto the screen as possible, we've given everything room to breathe so you can take it all in at your leisure. We've put a lot of effort into trying to design a great experience, both on mobile and laptop / desktop computers, and would love your feedback if you have other ideas.
- Feature bloat. So many sites in this space are jam packed full of so many features, you can't find what you're looking for. And even if you find it, it's still tricky to navigate. So we've tried to strip away as much as possible. We remain open to building out more functionality from here, but every feature will have to fight hard to justify its inclusion, not just on its own merits but as part of the overall experience. It's just good taste.
- Bucket list. All the other venue categories are objective - you either have walking trails nearby, or you don't! - but the exception is bucket lists. That's entirely subjective, so we pay especially close attention to the venues that get designated as such. We want your venue searches to be as fruitful as possible.
Hopefully this all adds up to an enjoyable experience. Let us know if there's anything else you think we can do, or even let us know if you like what we've done!
